Whether your big day is right around the corner or months ahead, below are a few little tips I learnt that helped me out on my special day!
Skin care - STICK TO WHAT YOU KNOW!
There is nothing worse than trying something new and your skin has a nervous break out.
Double cleanse every night. By this I mean remove your makeup with an oil or cream until the cotton pad wipes clear.
Second step - Wash your face with a cleanser and water.
Exfoliate - Do this either once or twice a week to get rid of any excess dry skin and give your skin a deep cleanse.
Now, something that takes a little getting used to but makes you feel like you have a new layer of skin: take an ice cube from the freezer and wipe it across your whole face until it melts to nothing.
You can do this morning or evening.
Hydrate - I have to keep reminding myself to do this but it's for the best!
Inside and out, it's the cheapest way to flush all the unwanted toxins out of your body.
P.S. Add a bit of lemon to jazz it up!
Mask it - Treat yourself to a mask at least once a week to help boost the hydration levels in your skin.
Remember, your foundation is only as good as your skin!
Lips - Scrub those babies!
I use the sugar scrub from MAC which leaves a delicious aftertaste and smell.
If you don't want to buy a sugar scrub, take your tooth brush gently over your lips after you brush your teeth, without toothpaste and always BALM IT.
Add that lip moisturiser straight afterwards!
This is to help your lipstick sit better, especially if it's a matte one as they tend to point out all the cracks in your lips (Matte lipstick are known to dry out your lips)
I spoilt myself and even got lip masks to be super "extra"...
Lashes - A whole new level to your makeup look.
Now, not everyone likes lashes and that's totally fine, each to their own!
Me on the other hand, I love lashes and one thing I was nervous about was crying them off on the wedding day hahaha!
So I chose to get eyelash extensions done and wouldn't have had it any other way.
The great thing about these is that you can choose your length and fullness.
